Meet OUR MINISTER
Hello, siblings in Christ!
My name is Monica McDougal. I have been serving at Attica First United Methodist Church since July 1, 2022. It is an honor to minister to and alongside such a wonderful, welcoming community. I moved to Indiana after completing graduate school in June of 2021. Before that, I was born and raised in Eastern Kansas. My mom is a retired United Methodist pastor, so my family moved around from small town to small town in Eastern Kansas, but I consider Osawatomie my hometown. Osawatomie is a small community located about an hour south of Kansas City. I spent most of my childhood roaming the 102-acre horse farm that my grandparents lived on (its now my parents' home!) that has been in my family since 1856. I am from a long line of Methodists and was brought up in the United Methodist Church. In 2016, I graduated with my B.A. in Mass Media with an emphasis in Public Relations from Washburn University (Topeka, Kansas). Through my time in a United Methodist campus ministry, I heard God calling me to ministry which ultimately led me to receiving my M.Div. with a concentration in Christian Education from Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary (Evanston, IL) in 2021. I am passionate about helping Christians develop a deeper relationship with God through connecting with scripture and with one another. In my spare time, I like to read, crochet, paint, and spend time with family and friends. Currently, I live in Lafayette, Indiana with my spouse, Mack, and our dog, Cricket.
